Happy Friday!!!
I have a confession to make. I got my first iPod (a first generation nano) almost three years ago. I was excited to use it for working out and immediately downloaded some music and created an awesome workout playlist. Since then, I have probably added/deleted about 6 songs from the list…otherwise, it’s pretty much the same as it was three years ago. Oops. Every time I workout I think “I should download some new music” but when I get around to it, I download one or two songs and replace a couple on my “Workout” list and move on. This is pure laziness on my part!
Lucky for me, iTunes 8 has solved my problem! I am absolutely loving the Genius playlist function that was recently added. In case you haven’t used it, all you do is select one song in your library and then click on the Genius button and then “voila!” you have a 25-song playlist based on that song. I have done it a couple times with different types of music (especially at work) and really loved it. The Genius comes up with much better playlists than I do!
Tomorrow morning I’m running a 10K, so I created a new playlist to jam out to during the race. (Disclaimer: I do not claim to have excellent taste in music. This is stuff I like. Whatever. “Umbrella” was my cell phone ringtone for about 6 months and I’m pretty sure it annoyed everyone around me. I loved it. No shame.)
Here’s my Genius playlist based on “Hot N Cold” by Katy Perry. This one is based on stuff already in my library, but it also recommends other songs to buy that you might like based on this list.

It’s sort of like a Sven for my iPod. Now if only it could do all the other awesome stuff that Sven does.
I am kind of the same way with my iPod, so this is good to know about. Thanks! Have a great weekend.
Heather- I love when I can get something/someone else to do something I’m too lazy to do 🙂
I love Nelly Fertado. Say it Right, Girl!!
